James (Jack) Makinson

Short Bio

 I was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 20^th, 1952. I have three brothers, Michael, Gary, and Daniel.  I was brought up Roman Catholic believing in Jesus Christ and GOD.  Today, I am not a practicing Catholic, but have a strong and lasting belief in Jesus Christ and that he governs my life.  I started martial arts training in November of 1994 at USA Karate in St. Petersburg, Florida, under the tutelage of Mr. John Graden, Mr. Joe Lewis, and Mr. Bill “Superfoot” Wallace.   My particular style/disciplines are American Tae Kwon Do (Chang Hon) and Shotokan Karate.  I received my 1st Dan on June 20^th, 2004 from Dr. Neal Schiesske.  I continue to compete in the NASKA (North American Sport Karate Association) in the Executive Men’s Forms Division throughout the eastern United States.  In July of 1999, I was awarded 1^st place championship in my division at the US Open in Orlando, Florida, through my excellent martial arts instruction, dedication, and the grace of GOD.  For those of you who practice the martial arts and believe in Jesus Christ, I strongly encourage you to become a part of the Koreja Do Christian Martial Arts Association, it has enriched my martial arts and life tremendously.
